dasar, manusia sebagai makhluk budaya, manusia sebagai individudan makhluk
social, manusia dan peradaban, manusia keragaman dan kesetaraan, manusia nilai,
moral dan hukum,manusia sains, teknologi dan seni, manusia dan lingkungan.
Developing students’ knowledge and ability to use basic structures of English at both receptive and productive levels. Lecturing will be the technique in delivering the materials and students are assigned to do structured work. Students’ learning will be assessed through classroom performance, assignments, quizzes, mid-semester test and final test..
Grammar in Spoken Discourse is part of the continuous and prerequisite grammar course series. Grammar in Spoken Discourse concentrates on examining grammar in spoken discourse, its anomaly, rules, functions and common usage. In particular, this course aims to prepare and to equip English Department students with grammatical skills in the spoken setting. In a way, this course supports the development of speaking courses.
While developing the basic competencies of reading initiated at secondary schools (such as getting general and specific information from the text, getting the main ideas and detailed information from the text, deducing the meaning of words based on the context, and explaining relations between parts of the text through grammatical cohesive devices), with a mastery of vocabulary within 4500 words and relevant grammatical structures, the course also aims at the development of the skills of scanning, skimming, previewing and predicting and summarizing. In order to aid the language development, both simplified and authentic texts of general topics may be used. Text types may include Narration, Description, and Explanation. While individual performances are noted, pair and group work should be encouraged. Assessment of success is based on mid-term as well as final examinations.
This course covers teaching learning activities that aim to enable the students to have introductory knowledge of English educational literature and its details.
